So we all have those little home comforts that we can not travel without! We’re exactly the same. Sometimes they change depending on where we’re going and how long were going for. But the most important thing you can do is listen to yourself. At the end of the day you’re a grown arse adult you’re carrying that shit yourself.
Now most bloggers/vloggers are like only take the minimum!! No. Just Stop. Ignore them. If you want to be miserable your entire trip listen to them telling you to take a single pair of socks for three weeks hiking in the Costa Rican Cloud Forest. Let me tell you. You will cry and you will hate it.
The First Rule about packing club: if you have space, take it.Skott @anxioustravellers
The Second Rule about packing club: ignore those who say less is more… it’s a lie…
So what do we actually take?
- Cash- UK and a bit for when we get to where we’re going
- Passports (you’re not going far without this…)
- Visas if needed
- Boarding card
- Starling Card- Can not recommend this enough if you’re UK based (keep an eye out for its own post)
- Something to read/Audiobooks
- Phone- with games that you can play offline
- Power bank and a wire
- Camera- We’ll do a post on ours
- Hotel details-yeah really you don’t want to beg to use wifi if you don’t have your deets… #truestory
- and finally…each other… *awwwwww*
Now we’ve missed things off like food/drinks/ clothing. We’re buying food and drink at the airport because you can’t take them through security in the UK and clothing, well, we will have this on. Promise.
You’ve got to use your common sense when it comes to this stuff. If were flying somewhere warm we’re not wearing coats. If we’re going to the snow and know its going to be cold when we get there, we are going to be wearing coats. We guarantee that we’ll both be wearing Jeans, trainers, T-shirt and some form of hoodie/Jumper. You want to be comfy. At the end of the day if you’re flight gets delayed you don’t want to be in your best stuff.
Now, you’re going to need all the above for long haul. but you do have the added benifits of TV weather thats seat back or aisle. But. and its a big BUT, you may want the following:
- Change of clothes
- Eco Wipes/ Flannel and soap
- Toothbrush and toothpaste
There’s nothing worse than getting off an 10 hour flight, sitting round for eight hours and then getting on another 8 hour flight without getting changed. You’re going to feel rough… you’re going to want to get changed and freshen yourself up. You’re going to have to sit next to someone too… you don’t want to be that guy…
So really all you have to do now is grab some food, a packet of Werther’s Original (yeah Skott can’t get on a plane without them) (Like really he can’t) and a nice drink of your choice and wait to get 45K feet in the air…
Catch you in the next one guys…
Leah and Skott
